About Northbound Pet
Our Story
I started my adventure into pet care at a young age, my goal was to acquire enough volunteer hours to be accepted into veterinarian school. Little did I know that there was such a high need for dog-care in Kenmare,ND. I started charging for my services around the age of eight and with a little convincing my parents started letting me board dogs in our home. They even built me an outdoor dog run to be able to have off leash play time. By age fourteen it turned into my full time job. Clients started asking if I could bathe and trim their pups nails, so after many spa days in my families bathroom it was time to look into grooming professionally. So I graduated as early as possible and at age sixteen I decided to take the leap and began online classes to learn about professional grooming and purchased all the equipment I would need. My mom sacrificed her home office so I would have an office to run my new grooming salon out of. Life was busy and it was good I had enough savings to be able to purchase my own home and move out when I turned eighteen. With even more assistance from my family they helped me remodel the back half of my new home into a fully functional dog house. During your pups stay they will have their own lounge room , groom room and bedroom. Our goal is to continue to branch even further this year and provide more assistance to the community!

We completely understand how scary it can be to leave your four legged friend with anyone, it doesn't matter if its just for a groom or to stay awhile during your vacation. Our goal is to leave you with a easy mind knowing your dog will be treated as one of our own and be loved in their home away from home!
The face behind the business
Hello, my name is Lindsey and as you have read above I have been caring for the furry family members of many for a long time. I am the one to be handling your pup for all their grooming and boarding needs. You may notice I will consistently say our or we and this is because I have an amazing support system to lean on when in need of assistance or guidance. This career path has given me so much but my biggest blessing from it has been the ability to help the community when it comes to their dogs. Little something about myself, six years ago this career brought me the light of my life. I call that light Bubba and he is one of the first dogs your pup will meet so I guess you could call him my right hand man of this whole operation.
